I spent about 11 hours this weekend helping my friend Wes start to sort his Magic: the Gathering cards, which he collected from 1997-2008. We made it about two-thirds of the way through the sorting process this weekend and will probably try to finish it up in the next few days— by doing this, we’ll have an indexed collection of somewhere on the order of 25,000 cards from those eras (along with my paltry collection of maybe 2,000 cards from sets from 2010-2011) that we can use to build blocks of cards that we can use to play with friends who don’t have an interest in buying cards of their own.

(Apologies for the blurry photos. The pre-alphabetizing stage of sorting cards by color goes by a lot faster with the help of about four million glasses of rum & coke.)
